Preventing mold growth during new construction is immensely important to the construction process. The process of preventing mold growth in construction is called drying-in. During drying-in, contractors let any vulnerable building materials, such as wood, have plenty of time to dry out. Even after this dry out process, a properly dried-in building can have mold growth.
